From California coastlines to southern hospitality, we crossed the country in search of the top destinations where Black businesses could grow and thrive in 2024. After analyzing data on more than 50 metropolitan areas, we narrowed it down to the 15 winning cities for Black Business 2024.
What sets these hot spots apart? For starters, they prioritize supporting minority-owned ventures through incentives and policies. Several have established Black business chambers and economic development initiatives as well. Of course, the sizable Black populations provide a robust customer base too. These cities also ranked high for diversity and inclusion overall—critical components for welcoming new enterprises. Quality of life was another big area we evaluated in terms of affordable housing, strong labor markets, efficient transportation, and cultural attractions.
